Veterinarian/Pathologist:

MRPath is developing high performance magnetic resonance imaging services for pathology applications. Our objective is to provide diagnostic information and tools for customers engaged in drug discovery, toxicology, anatomic phenotyping and teratology.

The Veterinarian will be responsible for performing duties requiring special skills associated with the care and handling of small research laboratory animals; including the preparation of mice and rats for magnetic resonance imaging, including some surgical procedures. The individual will be responsible for animal care and support including a wide scope of activities. This will include the development of processes for the preparation of animals for invivo imaging.

In addition to specialized tasks, however, the individual must also demonstrate the capability for operating in a highly disciplined research and regulatory environment.

Specific responsibilities include:

  • Part-time position requiring 8 to 16 hours pert week.
  • Performs technical procedures; including but not limited to animal dosing by various routes (e.g., SC, IV, PO), animal surgical preparation, animal euthanasia, animal tissue collection, and animal handling and/or restraint.
  • Development of contrast delivery methods for effective magnetic resonance imaging.
  • Maintain IACUC requirements for the facility.

Education/Knowledge/Skills and Professional Qualities

Although the individual will be trained to perform the technical procedures, strong interest in veterinary pathology or radiology is a minimum requirement. Other desired experience includes:

Animal Research Associate:

MRPath is developing high performance magnetic resonance imaging services for pathology applications. Our objective is to provide diagnostic information and tools for customers engaged in drug discovery, toxicology, anatomic phenotyping and teratology.

The Animal Research Associate will be responsible for performing duties requiring special skills associated with the care and handling of small research laboratory animals; including the preparation of mice and rats for magnetic resonance imaging, including some surgical procedures. The individual will be responsible for animal care and support including a wide scope of activities ranging from the operation of the animal facility to the administration and implementation of standard operating procedures.

Individual must have a demonstrated interest and capability for implementing innovative approaches in the preparation of specimens in support of animal models of disease and toxicity. In addition to specialized tasks, however, the individual must also demonstrate the capability for operating in a highly disciplined research and regulatory environment.

Specific responsibilities include:

  • Provides daily care and maintenance of laboratory animals in accordance with established procedures.
  • Performs technical procedures; including but not limited to animal identification procedures (i.e., ear notch/tagging), animal dosing by various routes (e.g., SC, IV, PO), animal surgical preparation, animal euthanasia, animal tissue collection, and animal handling and/or restraint.
  • Provides support for the daily operation of the animal facility including cage washing, inventory of supplies, maintenance of equipment, etc.
  • May be required to participate in holiday and weekend duty rotation for animal care.

Education/Knowledge/Skills and Professional Qualities

Although the individual will be trained to perform the technical procedures, experience in a research animal facility is a minimum requirement. Other desired experience includes:

  • High School diploma or equivalent; College degree preferred
  • Certification by the American Association for Laboratory Animal Science (AALAS) at the Assistant Laboratory Animal Technician (ALAT) level or Laboratory Animal Technician (LAT) is preferred.

Senior Java Developer:

This position requires strong Java development skills. Ability to develop from specifications as well as to design and implement independently is crucial. An interest in both User Interface design and imaging technology indicates a good fit. Strong problem resolution and analytical skills are a must.

Essential Responsibilities

The responsibilities of the Java Software Engineer are described below.

  • Participate in implementation and delivery of a compelling experience for MRPath’s Java-based software products
  •  
  • Responsible for feature implementation, bug fixes to MRPath VoxStation™, our core client application
  • Maintain and improve as necessary MRTool, a command-line Java application used for scripted manipulation of image on our servers
  • Maintain and improve MRUploader, a Java applet that enables users to upload many types of image data to our servers
  • Consider possibilities for new Java applications, applets, and command-line utilities for implementation, communicate design ideas to Software team
  •  
  • Request and consider feedback from users, conduct seminars and perform occasional presentations of software use and capabilities
  • Read bug reports, suggestions received from users and consider for changes, improvements to MRPath software
  • Run occasional seminars or presentations for new users and potential business partners explaining software capabilities
  • General Administrative Responsibilities
  • Maintain/Update appropriate help pages and knowledge base(s) as needed.
  • Provide input to peer reviews.
Non-Essential Responsibilities
  • Enlist help of other MRPath support organization(s) as required – following escalation procedures.

Qualifications
  • BS/CS, or equivalent experience
  • Ability to travel 10% of the time
Skills / Experience Required
  • Strong Java background
  • Good knowledge of AWT and/or Swing
  • Interest in User Interface design and implementation
  • Experience with Eclipse, JBuilder or IntelliJIDEA
  • Comfortable with CVS or similar source control tools
  • Knowledge of Ant, Java Web Start a plus
  • Familiarity delivering Java on both PC and Mac platforms a plus
  • Strong communication and telephone skills, (verbal, listening and written).
  • Possess a friendly, compassionate, and outgoing demeanor.
  • Ability to distinguish relevant from irrelevant, handles multiple priorities and pressure situations, and empathizes with the situation.
  • Understanding the significance and business impacts of an image management system to properly determine severity.
  • Technical aptitude and general knowledge of software terminology to assist in problem determination and resolution.

IT Support Specialist:

The responsibilities of the Support Specialist are described below.

  • Provide Support for MRPath products and third party products (hardware and software) utilized with MRPath’s software:
  • Responsible for providing telephone and Email support to customers (internal and external) for MRPath software products. General third party product support for those utilized with the MRPath software.
  • Provide needed assistance to ensure that inquires are effectively and efficiently resolved.
  • Perform general diagnostics and trouble shooting.
  • Resolve general system set-up and hardware functionality issues.
  • Utilize analytical information gathering techniques to identify need(s).
  • Perform severity assessment and problem classification from information obtained.
  • Resolve general application usage problems.
  • Internal IT support
  • Maintain and support MRPath’s corporate infrastructure (network, PCs, laptops, servers, etc.).
